I’ve lived in the Raleigh-Durham area for nearly 17 years, and few landmarks in the Triangle are as recognizable as Duke University and Duke Chapel.
The soaring Gothic architecture of Duke Chapel makes it one of my favorite places in Durham to photograph and paint. Just steps away, the Sarah P. Duke Gardens offers an entirely different side of campus—flowers, trees, reflections and landscapes that change dramatically throughout the seasons.
I’ve returned to Duke many times over the years with my camera, photographing the Chapel, campus and gardens in different seasons, weather and light. Those original photographs have become the inspiration for an ongoing collection of Duke University watercolor paintings and fine art prints.
