Schminke Super Granulating Watercolor Paints- Honest Artist Review
New video on YouTube talking about my experiences with Schminke Super Granulating Paints. Schminke is a German brand (I don’t just love them since I am studying German).
I think granulation is one of the best things about watercolor (and the lack of it is how I can usually tell the difference between crappy A.I. artwork vs. real artwork online). If you like granulating colors you need to give these a try.
Sie Sind wunderbar und Ich denke, dass sie dir gefallen werden.

This painting of Salzburg, Austria was created using Schminke Granulating Paints.
Original painting 15×22″ on 300lb Arches professional watercolor paper
Fine art prints available

This painting on YUPO synthetic (aka plastic) did some really interesting things. Since this was painted on plastic, you don’t get the extreme granulation you would get with traditional watercolor paper. However, I loved how the colors separated in many areas and would float on top of each other. This Panama City skyline was created using a combination of masking fluid and the granulating paints.
The paints can be purchased as individual paints or in sets. Watch the video for my recommendations. Individual tubes can be purchased online:

Nice honest take! The way granulation can add depth and texture to washes is so unique and it sounds like these paints really deliver that effect.
